Special model steam engine class P8 038-711-8
 A legendary steam engine, well known by DB-Fans around the world!
"Die letzten drei Mohikaner" the last 3 of their kind The steam engines 038 772-0, 038 382-8 and 038-711-8 were the last 3 of the legendary class P8 that were in service on DB rails back in 1973. Although they should have been replaced by diesels already by this time, they were still in regular service.
The prototype 038 711-8 of our special model was put in service in 1921 by Deutschen Reichsbahn. Until it's retirement in February 1974 this engine has travelled 3,5 Mio km on rails. The locomotive is displayed today in Berenbostel near Hannover.
